Rebecca Mabanglo-Mayor is a Filipino American writer, storyteller, and creativity coach. She received her MFA in Creative Writing in 2012 and she shares Filipino folktales and Filipino-American personal stories in performance to encourage others to celebrate their unique heritage and experience. Her courses and workshops reflect a concern with the ways in which writers and performers reveal and reflect cultural conflicts and transformation.

Her non-fiction, poetry, and short fiction have appeared in print and online in several journals and anthologies Growing Up Filipino II: More Stories for Young Adults, Kuwento: Small Things, and Beyond Lumpia, Pansit, and Seven Manangs Wild: An Anthology. Recently she served as judge of the first Keepers of the Fire Prize for Non-fiction sponsored by Raven Chronicles Press. Her poetry chapbook Pause Mid-Flight was released in 2010 and her collection Dancing Between Bamboo Poles was released in 2019. She was also the co-editor of True Stories: The Narrative Project Vol. I-IV. She has been performing as a storyteller since 2006 and specializes in stories based on Filipino folktales and Filipino-American history.
