Frances Howard-Snyder has a Ph.D. from Syracuse University and teaches philosophy at Western Washington University. She has published a logic textbook and numerous articles on ethics and the philosophy of religion. She has an MFA from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University. She has published a monograph titled Cause and Effect in Fiction (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024) as well as short stories in The Magnolia Review, Silver Pen, Marrow Magazine, Halfway down the Stairs, and many other places. When not writing or teaching, she enjoys traveling, reading, walking, most often around Lake Padden or on the Boardwalk, enjoying her family, playing word games, and most especially, smashing a pickle ball!
